  • All For Christmas

Christmas is a wonderful time of year. Everyone makes an effort to spend time with each other and to make life magical for a while. We decorate trees, hang lights, put up Christmas bells and wreaths. We make plum pudding and gingerbread cookies, lay the table with bonbons and candles in preparation for a feast. We commence with singing carols and festivities. It is a time to celebrate, dream and wish for peace and joy for all. This fabric collection has a large allover print in three colorways. This is perfect for Christmas bags, table cloths, cushions and large blocks in quilts and table runners. There are two novelty stripe fabrics that are great for borders or fussy cut individual images for piecing. The small coordinating prints complete this range, with presents, plaids, stars and holly in a palette of soft blues and terracotta.

  • Farm to Market

Crane Designs’ latest collection Farm to Market was inspired by a lazy Sunday afternoon drive through rural upstate New York during the growing season. Along the drive, we viewed beautiful old farms with great barns majestically sitting among the rolling hills.

This picture, perfect rural setting was surrounded by fields of corn and a large variety of produce. The produce that was ready to be picked and taken to the local farmers market. We also spotted a large rooster strutting around with his flock of hens and some baby chicks. Once I returned home, I started sketching. I created a whimsical drawing of a colorful rooster pulling a wagon of produce with a flock following along to the market.

This collection started with a wool applique project, also called Farm to Market. We adapted this wool applique project into a fabric collection. This new collection is just brimming with an abundance of striking coordinates that are waiting to be-sewn into smart projects. These projects could range from wall hangings, quilts, to kitchen coordinates. Imagine table runners, place-mats or curtains with valences incorporating the fun border design or the rooster and hens off to market. We topped off the collection with an easy to sew apron panel. We hope you are inspired to create a few beautiful quilted treasures from the Farm to Market collection.

  • Festival of Lights

The Festival of Lights, the celebration of Hanukkah, brings light into the world as we enter the darker days of winter. It commemorates the miracle that happened in Jerusalem over 2000 years ago. The temple had been destroyed and there was only enough oil to keep the eternal flame lit for one day, however, it lasted for 8 days until more oil was found. The menorah is lit for 8 nights to remind us of the miracle. Children play with tops (dreidels) and win gold-foil coins filled with chocolate (gelt). Athena Art Studios chose to share this as their first collection with Henry Glass Co.

  • Teddy's American

In 1902, during a hunting trip in Onward, Mississippi, President Theodore Roosevelt refused to shoot a trapped black bear. He felt that the shot would be unsportsmanlike and against his hunting ethical code. A few days later, after hearing about the story, a political cartoonist had satirized this moment in a Washington Post cartoon. The story reached a Brooklyn, N.Y. candy storeowner, Morris Michtom, who decided to create a stuffed bear that was dedicated to the President. He called it the "Teddy Bear."

Teddy's America celebrates the spirit of red, white and blue. Teddies in classic positions as well as great moments celebrating the spirit of America. This iconic teddy bear inspired Robert Giordano to create his newest collection. The collection offers a teddy bear panel, a tossed allover teddy, a plaid, a small tossed teddy print, a continuous yardage block print, a tossed allover flags print, a distressed texture stripe print, a packed teddy print, a wind spinner print and a confetti allover. All these prints can be used to make a fast quilt, table decor, a wall hanging, pillows or a tote bag. This collection is coordinated in a red, white, blue and tan color palette.
